Taiwan High Speed Rail says no to private sector lenders
Taiwan High-Speed Rail, a cash-strapped borrower that has previously flirted with default, last week signed a fresh lease of life with a mammoth NT$382bn (US$12bn) public sector bank refinancing. With the private sector shut out, the loan is a rare instance of a distressed borrower saying no to willing lenders.
