IFR Asia RMB Bond Markets Roundtable 2016: Roundtable participants

Ken Hu

Invesco

Ken Hu is chief investment officer, Asia Pacific fixed income, at Invesco, an investor in both onshore and offshore renminbi bonds. He joined lnvesco in April 2014 from Bank of China Hong Kong (BOCHK) Asset Management, where he was CIO for fixed income, and earlier worked as CIO for Bank of China Group Life Assurance. His 19 years of experience include stints at HSBC Private Bank, First State Investments and Income Partners.

Hu is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Public Accountant.

 

Mushtaq Kapasi

ICMA

Mushtaq Kapasi is chief representative for Asia Pacific at the International Capital Market Association, a trade association that promotes standards and conventions for the international debt markets. He joined ICMA in 2013, having worked as a banker, lawyer, and management consultant at UBS, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Allen & Overy, and McKinsey.

ICMA works closely with Chinese regulators and market participants, and has convened a working group to discuss the standardisation of Silk Road bonds, a format including renminbi instruments.

 

Jini Lee

Ashurst

Jini Lee is a partner in the securities and derivatives practice at Ashurst, where she specialises in debt capital markets. She joined Ashurst in 2015 from another international law firm, where she worked on capital markets transactions and focuses especially on Greater China.

Lee advises investment banks, corporate issuers, governments and government agencies in debt capital market transactions in renminbi and other international currencies, as well as liability management exercises and equity-linked financings.

 

Tony Tang

Dagong Global Credit Rating

Tony Tang is senior director and head of corporate ratings at Dagong Global Credit Rating (Hong Kong), the overseas unit of Chinese rating agency Dagong. He joined Dagong in July 2016 from S&P Global, where he was a director of corporate ratings, specialising on Greater China.

 

Freddy Wong

Fidelity International

Freddy Wong is fixed income trader at Fidelity International in Hong Kong, where he is responsible for trading across Asia in multiple currencies, including onshore and offshore renminbi. In particular, he manages daily liquidity for a number of funds that invest in the Dim Sum bond market. He joined Fidelity in 2002 and was earlier a fixed income portfolio specialist.

 

Timothy Yip

HSBC

Timothy Yip is head of cross-border renminbi in HSBC’s debt capital markets group, based in Hong Kong. His role focuses on DCM origination related to renminbi internationalisation, especially in the offshore Dim Sum market and the onshore Panda bond market, and covers financing activities across the capital structure. He is also responsible for coverage of Hong Kong-incorporated financial institutions.

 

Ben Yuen

BOCHK Asset Management

Ben Yuen is chief investment officer, Fixed Income, at BOCHK Asset Management, responsible for fixed-income investment capabilities and business development, including onshore and offshore renminbi bonds. He joined BOCHK in 2014 after seven years at UBS Global Asset Management. Yuen was earlier head of Asian fixed income at First State Investments, and served as a senior investment manager at HSBC Global Asset Management.
