  • NYMEX expands with Singapore office

    The New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) will open an office in Singapore on May 17 with Jennifer Ilkiw as director. Prior to joining NYMEX, she worked with the Monetary Authority of Singapore to help develop Singapore as a commodity derivatives trading centre.

  • Indonesia CDS prices shaved

    Volumes in the Indonesia sovereign default swap picked up this week to levels more normally associated with the Philippines. Its new-found place in the spotlight results from a Moody’s announcement that it may raise Indonesia’s credit rating in the near future – possibly as early as this month – because of the government’s improved finances. Indonesia is currently rated B2 by Moody’s while S&P and Fitch rate it B+ and BB–.

    Price guidance on Korea South East Power s (Kosepo) global Reg S/144a USD300m 10-year bullet could emerge as early as today, early London hours, according to a banker involved. Barclays Capital, Citigroup and Credit Suisse arranged non-deal roadshows in early March for the genco rated A2/A-/A- by Moody s/S&P/Fitch. Korea Midland due 16 is the relevant comp and was last at mid swaps plus 45bp level, meaning late 40s guidance for Kosepo is on the cards, with 3bp-odd thrown in as a new issue premium.

    Bank Bukopin is looking to relaunch its IPO in June. The privately owned Indonesian bank expects to kick off roadshow mid next month and to open the domestic offer in early July.

  • ECM: Macquarie Launches A$145.8m-$156.6m Selldown In Gold Miner

    Macquarie Bank this evening launched an A$145.8m–$156.6m (US$111.3m–$119.5m) selldown in Oceana Gold. The deal comprises an offer of 180m shares priced at A$0.81–$0.87 apiece. The vendor is the ASX listed GRD, an engineering firm. Pricing is expected tonight.

  • LOANS: Dishman Pharmaceutical Mandates ICICI For Acquisition Loan

    Mumbai-listed Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals has mandated ICICI Bank for a US$60m acquisition financing. Bankers familiar with the company said that it is seeking to acquire Switzerland-based CarboGen, a producer of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

    OCBC and BNP Paribas have been mandated for a S$260m five-year loan for Ritz-Carlton that is set to be launched into syndication this week. The deal refinances a previous deal and is said to offer a margin in the 70bp area over Singapore dollar swap offer rate.
