Sumit Bhandari

BlackRock

Sumit Bhandari is head of Asian credit research at BlackRock. Bhandari joined the asset manager after nine years at Lehman Brothers, where he was responsible for overseeing the legacy illiquid loan portfolio. Prior to that, he worked in proprietary investment at Lehman focusing on special credit situations and risk arbitrage.

David Lai

Eastspring Investments

David Lai is an investment director at Eastspring in Singapore and the lead manager for Asian and emerging markets hard-currency fixed-income portfolios. He joined in 2009 from Aberdeen Asset Management, following various credit research roles at HSBC, Société Générale and Daiwa Securities.

Bryan Collins

Fidelity

Bryan Collins is a portfolio manager with over 12 years of investment experience. He joined Fidelity Worldwide Investment in Hong Kong in 2006 as a fixed income trader, and became a portfolio manager in 2009. He manages Fidelity’s fixed-income funds in Asia as well as a number of Hong Kong and Japanese cash funds, overseeing US$4bn of assets for clients.

Jonathan Cornish

Fitch Ratings

Jonathan Cornish is head of bank ratings for North Asia, responsible for all bank ratings in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Mongolia. He joined Fitch Ratings in 1998 in corporate ratings, followed by three years in the credit policy group, and moved into the banking group role in February 2010. He is also head of the Hong Kong office.

Dominique Jooris

Goldman Sachs

Dominique Jooris is head of credit capital markets in Asia Ex-Japan. He moved to Hong Kong in 2009 as head of investment-grade capital markets and led the Asia Ex-Japan syndicate desk through 2010. Jooris was previously co-head of the European financial institutions DCM group. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2005 and has co-authored a book in Chinese on hybrid capital products.

Sean McNelis

HSBC

Sean McNelis is head of the financing solutions group for Asia-Pacific. He is responsible for the development of hybrid capital solutions for both financial and corporate clients across the region. His role involves interaction with bank and insurance issuers across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as with regulators and rating agencies with respect to hybrid capital instruments.

Ben Sy

JP Morgan

Ben Sy joined JP Morgan Private Bank in 2007 to lead the fixed income solutions group in Asia. He is responsible for sales and trading, credit and interest rate derivatives, fixed-income structured products, as well as fixed-income investment strategy, investment advice and managed fixed-income solutions. Sy has over 20 years of experience in fixed income.

Desmond Lee

Morgan Stanley

Desmond Lee runs the Asian bank credit research team at Morgan Stanley, covering about 70 banks across 13 countries in the region. He focuses on thematic research and in-depth single-name credit analysis. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2009, Desmond worked as a credit research analyst at RBS and UBS in Hong Kong, and as a loan officer at Toronto Dominion Bank.
